Alana Kushnir to Speak on Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property Developments in Australia
Alana Kushnir will be presenting a lecture in Melbourne for the Diploma in Intellectual Property and Collections, which is jointly offered by the Institute of Art & Law and the Australasian Registrars Committee.
Alana will be speaking to her expertise in implementing Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) protocols in practice, and about the upcoming stand-alone ICIP legislation due to be released in Australia next year. The new legislation will be developed by a First Nations-led process, and will address the harm caused by fake art, merchandise and souvenirs.
The Diploma in Intellectual Property and Collections will be offered to museum professionals in Australia and New Zealand in May 2024. The course offers necessary training in hands-on IP management.
