Alana Kushnir Named a Finalist in the Australian Law Awards for Innovator of the Year

Guest Work Agency (GWA) Director and Founder Alana Kushnir has been shortlisted for ‘Innovator of the Year (Individual)’ in the Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards 2024.

INNOVATOR OF THE YEAR

The ‘Innovator of the Year (Individual)’ category recognises that in today’s competitive legal market, innovation is essential in standing out from the crowd.

This award recognises the individual who has successfully implemented innovative projects and/or strategic initiatives in FY23–24.

GWA’s submission for this category highlighted GWA’s launched of its Contract Builders - a series of affordable, easy to use automated agreements, designed especially for art-related projects, as well as Alana’s continuing role of leading the Serpentine Galleries’ Legal Lab, which is building a number of open-source legal tools for artists and cultural institutions.

RECOGNITION OF INNOVATION IN ART LAW

Alana commented on being named as a finalist in the Australian Law Awards 2024: “I feel honoured to be recognised by the legal profession for the innovative approaches that GWA is taking in its work with artists, collectors, galleries and art tech start ups. I hope it encourages other lawyers to follow their passion and consider non-traditional areas of practice.”
