Guest Work Agency’s Director and Founder, Alana Kushnir recently presented a talk as part of her participation in a workshop for the Copyright, Art and Technology network, hosted by University of Agder in Kristiansand, Norway.

Alana shared insights into the  legal and advisory focus for  Guest Work Agency and introduced the work of the Serpentine Legal Lab. The talk explored the legal tools that the Legal Lab is currently developing and its behind-the-scenes work on the experimental video game, exhibition and web3 project by Gabriel Massan, Third World: The Bottom Dimension.

COPYRIGHT, ART AND TECHNOLOGY (CAT) NETWORK

The CAT network was set up by Siri-Helen Egeland at the University of Agder and Kunstsilo (Art Silo) Museum, to connect researchers in the field from all over the globe. The network aims to host meetings and workshops with the purposes of knowledge sharing, creating research projects and drafting funding applications.

THE KUNSTSILO MUSEUM

In addition to presenting the workshop and participating in other events, Guest Work Agency was treated to a tour of the incredible Kuntsilo Museum, which is set to open to the public in 2024.

Check out some photographs from the tour below:

Alana Kushnir comments on the experience:

“It was wonderful to connect with and share common challenges amongst the participants in the CAT Network. The legal issues which the Serpentine Legal Lab is addressing predominantly affect artists and cultural institutions at a global level, while the law to be applied is predominantly local. This is why it is especially important for the Legal Lab to develop its contract building tools in collaboration with like-minded individuals and organisations around the world – not only for the benefit of the Serpentine and the artist it commissions, but equally, for the entire 21st century art ecosystem.”
