In the third and final instalment of the Serpentine Legal Lab Live series, Serpentine Legal Lab Principal Investigator and Director of Guest Work Agency, Alana Kushnir and legal scholar, internet activist and artist Primavera de Filippi explored the legal and technical issues surrounding the licensing of NFTs.

In the session, Kushnir and de Filippi introduced the Token Bound Licence, a new copyright licence standard developed by de Filippi in collaboration with the Serpentine Legal Lab, the Initiative for Cryptocurrencies and Contracts (IC3), and the COALA NFT taskforce - a community of researchers, technologists, artists and lawyers. Designed specifically with NFTs in mind, the Token Bound Licence allows for copyright permissions to be transferred along with an NFT.

For further information regarding the design and license terms, have a read of this paper developed by COALA and IC3.
